Day 3 Morning Devotional – The “Underlamb”

Nov 26, 2025 | News

On the third day of the SLPUM Constituency Meetings, Pastor Felixian Felicitas, Southern asia-Pacific Division Field Secretary once again brought the delegates back to a core Adventist conviction: “We make no apologies that the Seventh-day Adventist Church came into existence as a fulfillment of prophecy and of God’s Word.” He expressed concern that many Adventists today have watered down—treated lightly or even avoided—the full biblical implications of being God’s remnant people, instead of embracing the identity and responsibility that come with it.

Pastor Felicitas reminded everyone that we are already living in the end time. While “the time of the end” is still ahead, we are unquestionably in the prophetic period known as the end time. Yet, he observed that many believers live today as if unaware of the times in which we are living.

In his message titled “The Underlamb”—a reference to the Lamb who seems like the underdog when compared to the dragon—he invited leaders to turn their attention back to Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God. When it comes to the problem of sin, he stressed, the Lamb is victorious—and because of His blood, the saints share in that victory.

The study centered on Genesis 3:15, the first gospel promise, and revisited the moment when “the Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and clothed them.” He explained that Adam’s fig-leaf covering—crafted by his own hands—could never be enough. A lamb had to die so that a covering could be provided. “Sin leads to death,” he said, noting that our own works are merely “aprons of righteousness,” while God alone provides the robe of righteousness.

Pastor Felicitas highlighted four key points in his message. First, sin is not trivial—sin is serious, and sin brings death. Second, there is a substitute for sin; though sin exists, Someone sinless took our place and “became sin for us.” Third, God Himself provides the substitute, reminding everyone that salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ alone. “No one can be justified by any work of his own,” he said, quoting, “Faith is the only condition upon which justification can be obtained.” Finally, he emphasized that only the One who is divine can provide atonement, pointing the delegates once more to Jesus Christ as the center of our identity, message, and mission.

The devotional set a Christ-centered foundation for the day, reminding everyone that only in the Lamb do we find victory – victory over sin and death.
