The Sabbath—A Gift of Rest and Hope Today
The Sabbath is God’s weekly invitation to pause, find peace, and reconnect with Him. It’s a reminder that we are not defined by endless work or the challenges of life but by God’s love and grace. Every seventh day, we celebrate this hope, resting in the assurance that God is the Creator and in control of the universe and that He is renewing us physically, mentally, and spiritually each week (Exodus 20:8-11; Mark 2:27-28).
The Second Coming—Hope for Tomorrow
The Bible promises that Jesus will return to restore this broken world and bring eternal joy and peace to His people (John 14:1-3; Revelation 21:1-4). As Adventists, we look forward to this glorious event, living each day with purpose, knowing that suffering and pain are not the end of the story. This hope motivates us to share God’s love and serve others, helping them prepare for His coming.
How We Bring This Hope to Life
At the Southern Luzon Philippine Union Mission (SLPUM), our mission is to live out and share this message of hope in practical, meaningful ways:
Restoring Lives Through Service:
We operate schools, hospitals, and community programs to uplift those in need, offering education, healing, and compassion. By meeting physical and emotional needs, we reflect God’s care for every individual.
Proclaiming a Balanced Life:
Through health initiatives, spiritual growth opportunities, and family ministries, we promote holistic well-being. The Sabbath plays a key role here, reminding us to prioritize rest, relationships, and renewal.
Pointing to the Ultimate Hope:
Every effort we make is tied to the belief that Jesus is coming again. Whether it’s through Bible study, worship, or simply sharing a kind word, we aim to lead others to the hope of His return.
Celebrating Community:
The Adventist Church is a global family united by the hope of the Second Coming and the Sabbath. At SLPUM, we welcome everyone to experience this fellowship, whether you’re seeking answers, looking for purpose, or simply wanting to connect.
Join Us On This Journey
The Adventist mission is more than a message—it’s a way of life shaped by hope. At SLPUM, we are committed to bringing this hope to every corner of our region and beyond. No matter where you are in your journey, you’re invited to join us as we rest in God’s promises, serve others, and prepare for a brighter tomorrow. Together, we can experience the hope that transforms lives.
